Our History
The beginning
Art Troutner and Harold "Red" Thomas meet and collaborate on Troutner's innovative open-web truss design.
1958Early Growth
To raise funds, Thomas and Troutner franchise their patented truss technology.
1960Expansion
Franchised operations merge into one organization focused on engineered solutions for the light commercial construction market.
1969Product Innovation
Troutner invents laminated veneer lumber (LVL) to address shrinking supplies of quality timber, helping introduce engineered wood products to residential construction markets.
1970 o 1979Leadership Growth
Tom Denig becomes President and CEO of the company originally founded by Thomas and Troutner. Under his leadership, engineered wood products gain widespread acceptance and rapid growth follows.
1990Acquisition by Weyerhaeuser
Weyerhaeuser acquires the company originally established by Thomas and Troutner.
2000RedBuilt Launches
Atlas Holdings LLC, along with former industry leaders and senior managers, acquires the commercial division of Trus Joist® from Weyerhaeuser. RedBuilt officially launches in August 2009.
2009Asset Expansion
RedBuilt purchases select assets of competitor Standard Structures Inc. (SSI).
201110th Anniversary
RedBuilt celebrates its 10 year anniversary.
2019Part of Mass Timber
RedBuilt enters the Mass Timber Market.
2020Hampton Lumber Acquisition
Hampton Lumber acquires RedBuilt, strengthening the company’s roots in the Pacific.
